Tom Jones has today been announced as the artist who will headline Haydock Park’s final music night of 2014.
Tom Jones returns by popular demand this summer as he performs Haydock Park following a hugely successful appearance at the racecourse in 2011.
12,500 fans attended the last Tom Jones concert, in 2011. Tickets will be massively in demand again, so advance purchase is strongly advised for his performance on Saturday 9th August.
John Baker, Regional Director North West of Jockey Club Racecourses, said:
“Music nights at Haydock Park are renowned for being a fantastic day out. We’ll have a great day of racing followed by international superstar Tom Jones. We are thrilled to welcome him back to Haydock Park racecourse for another superb event.
“Tom is such a popular artist with legions of followers it’ll be great to see him grace the racecourse stage again. We’re expecting a rush for tickets for one of the ‘must be there’ music events of the summer, so all racing and music fans are urged to reserve their tickets as soon as they can.”
The career of Tom Jones has gone from strength to strength, with his popularity as a live performer and recording artist sustained for half a century. He returned to Britain’s TV screens this month as a judge in BBC1’s ‘The Voice’ Saturday night talent show.
In the open-air setting of one of the most picturesque racecourses in the world, and after racing has finished for the evening on 9th August, the international superstar who has sold more than 100 million records worldwide will perform a dynamic show with classic hits and special selections.
