The curtain comes down on the Flat racing season at Haydock Park on Friday (18 OCTOBER).
It has been a vintage year in which the racecourse has attracted stars from all corners of Britain and overseas.
The richest race – the Group 1 Betfred Sprint Cup - went to Ireland and Gordon Lord Byron, while the Group 3 Timeform Jury Stakes was won by German raider Amarillo.
Other major prizes, such as the bet365-sponsored Group 2 Lancashire Oaks and the racecourse’s most historic race, the Old Newton Cup, stayed at home - with victories for Emirates Queen and Star Lahib respectively. The popular sprinter Kingsgate Native triumphed in the Group 2 Betfred Temple Stakes.
Jockey Club Racecourses (North West) are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join a newly-formed promotional team which will be responsible for ensuring racegoers enjoy an optimum experience at Aintree, Carlisle and Haydock Park, in return for a competitive hourly rate of pay, free tickets to future race meetings and additional benefits.
Would you like to join this exciting new team to help promote our raceday experience, products and future events?
It is with regret that this evening's live music performance featuring Rita Ora has been cancelled due to the ill health of the artist. Whinnie Williams’ performance has therefore also been cancelled and she too will not be performing.
The evening's great quality card of racing will still go ahead with gates opening at 3pm. The music performance will regretfully not take place.
There aren‟t many places that you can take the kids for free in the school holidays but horseracing is a great exception and this summer many courses are hosting family fun days that include a new interactive „Kids love the Races‟ roadshow designed to entertain and engage under 12s in the sport.
