Haydock Park Racecourse is indebted to the support it receives from the racing professionals – from Owners and Trainers who bring their horses to Haydock to the Press and other Media Supporters who report on our racedays.
We hope that any queries you may have are answered in this section and are relevant to you, but we are more than happy to furnish you with any other information you may require.
We look forward to welcoming you to Haydock Park Racecourse.
For the Flat Season the Owners and Trainers Bar, situated adjacent to the parade ring, provides an exclusive facility for connections of the runners at each meeting. Within this facility there will be a selection of hot and cold sandwiches and tea and coffee available.
For use during the Jump season, this new improved facility (sponsored by Brown Shipley) is located next to the Weighing Room, and owners can reserve up to a maximum of four places per runner and two places for the trainer. Within this facility you will be offered a complimentary carvery lunch. Tables will be for 10, so you may be sharing with the owner and trainer of another horse (we will be very happy to seat groups together if requested in advance), and your place will be reserved for the day. There is also the facility to request a replay of any of the races that take place at Haydock Park on the day. Please note that these lunch places are strictly non-transferable and can only be used by the registered owner or trainer.
So that we know how many people to expect on the day, reserved places in the Paddock Pavilion must be booked by 3pm the day before racing by calling Vikki Mason on 01942 402609.
We regret the necessity of having to restrict the number of places per runner to four owners due to space, but if demand on the Paddock Pavilion is lower than expected on a particular day, we will be happy to make extra spaces available. However, this will only be considered in advance of the meeting. There will be a charge of £40.00 plus VAT per head for any additional places.
Alternatively, for those of you who prefer not to sit down for lunch, there will be complimentary hot baguettes available at the carvery. Please see Vikki Mason in the Paddock Pavilion on the day for your voucher.
We are delighted to announce that Brown Shipley is the inaugural sponsor of our Owners & Trainers’ Pavilion. They are most welcome at the racecourse as new supporters of Haydock Park.
The new facility is now named the Brown Shipley Owners & Trainers’ Pavilion and marks the start of the three-year sponsorship of the pavilion by private bank Brown Shipley. Brown Shipley’s roots are in the North West. The bank started in Liverpool over 200 years ago and today they have substantial offices in the Spinningfields area of Manchester. These ties to the region are important to Brown Shipley and they couldn’t be more pleased to associate themselves with the Gold Standard here at Haydock Park which ensures owners and trainers visiting the racecourse will get the very best facilities.
Tables may also be available in one of our three restaurants, where special packages can be reserved at reduced prices for Owners and Trainers. We also have a number of Private Hospitality Boxes which may be available for hire. For further information, including prices, please contact the Sales Office on 01942 402 624.
It is advisable to book any of the above as far in advance as possible through the Sales Office, as places can get fully booked on busier meetings.
On arrival, Owners will be able to collect six badges per runner, plus complimentary racecards from the main entrance building. Please bring your PASS card with you. If you have a requirement for one or two additional owners’ badges this will only be considered in advance of the meeting.
Please note also that badges will not be allocated to owners or trainers whose horses are non-runners after declarations. For any special requests, please contact Vikki Mason on 01942 402 609.
Please note that we will be operating a strict dress code in all the Owners and Trainers facilities and the County Enclosure. Dress requirements are smart casual, no denim jeans, t-shirts, tracksuits or training shoes. Please ensure that all of your party is aware of this, as visitors who do not adhere to this policy will be refused access.
If you require any accommodation for your visit, please view our list of Local Hotels.
If you drive to Haydock Park (location within 1 mile of Junction 23 of the M6), you will be sent a car park label for a reserved space very close to the main entrance. Our car park attendants will direct you to the closest available space.
Warrington Bank Quay is the closest main line station to Haydock Park, with direct trains from London Euston via Watford Junction, Milton Keynes, Rugby and Crewe; it is also on a direct route from Birmingham New Street; and from the north there are direct trains from Glasgow via Carlisle, Penrith, Lancaster and Preston. For private light aircraft there is a landing strip (800 meters long) running East to West on the racecourse and a marked landing area for helicopters.
Please contact Vikki Mason on 01942 402609 to arrange this. All aircraft must have prior permission to land at the racecourse.
Once again this season, we are making special efforts to keep trainers up-to-date with going changes and weather forecasts. If you would like an up-to-the-minute going report, please call our Clerk of the Course, Kirkland Tellwright on 01942 402618. Alternatively, our going report can be viewed on online.
Photographs from our course photographer John Grossick can be viewed here. A DVD of your race is also available to owners of horses that are placed and this will be presented on the day.

Haydock Park Racecourse currently has three ownership syndicates – The Haydock Badgeholders, The Haydock Hopefuls and The Haydock Club with full details as follows:
THE HAYDOCK BADGEHOLDERS – We are delighted to say that everyone who enrols as an Annual Badgeholder for this year will also become a part owner in our very own racehorse for the 2012 Flat season. You will be able to experience the ups and downs of being a racehorse owner at NO EXTRA COST. Lancashire Racing Stables, who are based at Garstang, are very kindly giving us a two-year-old for the whole of the year. The horse will run in the name and colours of The Haydock Badgeholders.
You will be given the opportunity to get involved in every aspect of ownership ranging from regular visits to the yard to watch her on the gallops to going racing in style as an owner when we have a runner. You will be kept fully up to date with all the latest news about how the horse is progressing throughout the year and you will even be given the chance to name her! If you want to know more about Lancashire Racing Stables then their website address is www.lancashireracingstables.co.uk.
THE HAYDOCK HOPEFULS and THE HAYDOCK CLUB – Both these two Racing Partnerships will shortly be re-launched. They each comprise of twenty 5% shares which will be available on a free lease basis (or to buy if you prefer). This means that there is nothing to pay up front - all you need to do is make a FIXED PRICE monthly contribution of £95 towards the horse’s training fees & racing expenses as well as the administration costs of the syndicate. In return you will receive all the benefits of racehorse ownership as well as your share of any prize money won by ‘your’ horse.
If you would like to receive details about how you can get involved in racehorse ownership then please contact Paul Clarkson on 01995 605790, mobile 07802 764094 or by email.
