By becoming a 2012 Annual Badgeholder at Haydock Park Racecourse not only will you receive entry into 33 days of first-class flat and jump racing which has in 2011 seen exciting runs here at Haydock Park from top horses such as 'Nathaniel', 'Dream Ahead' and 'Bated Breath', but you will also receive a host of other benefits which will include:
Club Races:
During the year there will once again be a number of Annual Badgeholders’ races throughout the year. This will give you the chance to go into the Parade Ring before a race and help choose the best turned out horse or make a presentation afterwards to the winning owner in the Winner’s Enclosure. Details of how you get involved will be included in the Raceday guide on the days in question.
Look behind the Scenes:
On four selected racedays (two flat & two jumping) there will be a chance for you to have a look behind the scenes and meet some of the people involved in the smooth running of a day’s racing. These tours will be more comprehensive than in previous years and again full details (including timings) will be included in the Raceday guide.
Going to the Start:
There will be an opportunity on most racedays for a small number of you to accompany the Starter to the start of a race. Places need to be booked in advance and for further details you are asked to contact Paul.
Racing Forums:
At our final Family Raceday of 2011 on 26th October, we gave you the chance to meet and put questions to a number of people involved in racing such as an owner, trainer, jockey, commentator, etc. in between the races. This proved to be very popular and we intend to repeat the format on a couple of race days next year.
Tipping Competitions:
We are sure that you will be delighted to hear that the tipping competitions which have proved very popular in the past will be re-instated for the next flat season. All you have to do is select one horse running at Haydock on each day and post your entry in the special competition box outside the Booking Office before the first race. The person who returns the largest profit to a £1 level stake during the season will win a free Annual Badge for the following year.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Racing break to Ireland (7th – 9th December):
We are planning a three day & two night trip to the Emerald Isle in next year taking in two days of top class jumping action at Navan & Punchestown as well as evening racing on the flat under the floodlights at Dundalk, Ireland’s only all-weather track. A stable visit will be thrown in for good measure and flights will be available from both Manchester and Liverpool. The final itinerary will be finalised early in the new year and details sent to you in February.
Stable Visits:
There will be a couple of stable visits next year. These will be to two of the leading yards in the North West. The first will be to the state of the art Manor House stables of Tom Dascombe and Michael Owen at Malpas in Cheshire. Later on in the year there will be an opportunity to join us at the all conquering jumping yard of Donald McCain at Cholmondeley in Cheshire. Full details will be included in the Raceday guide in due course.
Meet The Team:
There will be a Social Evening at the racecourse when as part of the get-together you will get the opportunity to meet and put questions to the Management Team at Haydock Park headed by Managing Director Dickon White. Your views on the whole raceday experience are important to us & this event will help us to find out more about your opinions about how we can help you get more out of being an Annual Badgeholder. Please let us know if you wish to attend and then we can arrange a suitable date for the meeting.
Your Very Own Racehorse:
We are delighted to be able to tell you that everyone who enrols as an Annual Badgeholder for next year will also become a part owner in our very own racehorse for the 2012 Flat season. You will be able to experience the ups and downs of being a racehorse owner at no extra cost. Lancashire Racing Stables, who are based at Garstang, are very kindly giving us a two-year-old for the whole of the year. The horse will run in the name and colours of The Haydock Badgeholders.
You will be given the opportunity to get involved in every aspect of ownership ranging from regular visits to the yard to watch him/her on the gallops to going racing in style as an owner when we have a runner. You will be kept fully up to date with all the latest news about how the horse is progressing throughout the year and you will even be given the chance to name him! If you want to know more about Lancashire Racing Stables then their website address is www.lancashireracingstables.co.uk.
Our Club Manager, Paul Clarkson, coordinates all the club’s activities and ensures that Badgeholders receive first-class treatment.
Annual Badges can be purchased directly by cash, cheque, credit or debit card.
A Junior Annual Badge is also available at a cost of £100 per person (maximum age 21 or under – proof of date of birth is required when booking).
Annual Badges are strictly non-transferable and are issued in the name of the Badgeholder and cannot be passed to another racegoer.
Car Parking: The purchase of an annual badge includes a car park label that allows parking in ONE OF THREE reserved car parks on a first-come, first-served basis. We would like to point out that on particular racedays throughout the year, there is a high demand for parking and early arrival is recommended to avoid disappointment. We would also request that your car park label is displayed clearly in your car for the duration of your stay.
Haydock Park Annual Badge Holders have an opportunity to claim one FREE membership to the Northern Racing Club in 2012. This membership entitles you to:
